Heritage activity day - June 2003

The children from Year One and Reception joined together to do activities designed to increase their awareness of the richness of the local environment. We had a beautiful sunny day for the children to work outside. One task was to make a colour wheel from natural items found around the school. The children below show the range of leaves, bark, stones, flower petals etc. that they found.

Another task was to make plasticene impressions of interesting natural or man made textures that the children could find in the environment around the school.

Some went to great lengths to find just the texture they were looking for.
